About

A life shaped by story.

Aderonke Onuoha portrait

"Storytelling became a calling."

Her journey into acting began with a natural ability to observe, interpret, and express human emotions.

Born on 22 June 2000 in Lagos, Nigeria, Aderonke was raised by her grandparents — a quiet upbringing that shaped her instinct for observation. Her father hails from Ogwashi-Ukwu in Delta State, and her mother from Ijebu-Remo in Ogun State — a heritage that anchors the multiplicity of voices she brings to the screen.

From an early age, she was drawn to storytelling — recreating real-life situations and bringing characters to life in a way that felt authentic and relatable. What started as a passion gradually became a calling, and in 2023 she stepped into acting professionally, committing herself to telling meaningful African stories, portraying complex characters, and contributing to the global visibility of Nollywood.

She is known for her roles in The Presidency — her cinema debut — and The Lost Day. She gained significant recognition for her role as Adaku Okoli in the Africa Magic series Glass House.

Today, Aderonke approaches every role with the same intent: to honour the truth of the people she portrays, and to widen the lens through which African narratives are seen and felt around the world.
